Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Unlike national parks, the protected Ngorongoro area does not exclude any human life.
In fact, in this vast expanse of over 8 500 km², man and wildlife live here in harmony for hundreds of years.
Allowed to remain on the land of their ancestors, the Maasai perpetuate their traditional lifestyle of nomadic pastoralists.
The region has many places of interest:
- the wildlife specific to the region
- the Olduvai site and its museum
- the Maasai villages, protected from Western influence
- the geological curiosities such as Nasserarocks, ShiftingSands or Olduvai Gorge.
