Located 40 km to the north of the main Zanzibar island (also known as Ugunja), Pemba island is part of the Zanzibar Archipelago.
A day’s sport fishing in the 730m deep Pemba Channel between the island and the mainland coast has become an unmissable experience.
Pemba also has untouched sea beds with beautiful coral reefs and sealife: dolphins, turtles, whales and a multitude of deep sea species fish and coral dwellers.
How to get there:
- From Zanzibar Port there is a daily hydrofoil crossing (1hr 30mins)
- There are regular flights but times and schedules are frequently amended
