Mikumi NP

  Mikumi

The Mikumi National Park covers 3 230 km² & it comes third in size of the Parks of Tanzania - after Serengeti and Ruaha. Easy access from Dar es Salaam on a good main road - just 4 hours away but paradoxically, remains one of the least visited in Tanzania. The surrounding area is attractive with rolling hills and a good interesting variety and density of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion ... many species of antelope, and, the amazing wild dog

  Our advice

Mikumi Park is best visited in the dry season from July to February. In the rainy season, only elephant and giraffe appear above the high grasslands. For those who wish to discover Mikumi, two nights in this Park fits in well with the Ruaha or a trek in the Udzungwa National Park
